OnePlus One smartphones has finally received the much-anticipated OS upgrade CyanogenMod 12s or CM12s. Though the latest update features all the key features of Android 5 Lollipop, the Oneplus One smartphone users are experiencing a few annoying glitches and bugs after the update.

According to several OnePlus users, the devices experience overheating and a rapid battery drain. We wish Cyanogen will address the issues soon by releasing another update, but the process will take some time. If you want to resolve the issue immediately, downgrade the OS immediately through the below mentioned step-by-step process.


  • Ensure your Oneplus One smartphone has either TWRP or ClockWorkMod custom recovery pre-installed.
  • Ensure your Oneplus One battery has at least 70% of battery charge left.
  • Enable the UDB Debugging option from System>>Developer Option and enable the USB debugging option.
  • Take a back-up of all your necessary data because after the downgrade all the device data will get flashed.

How to Downgrade

  • Download the necessary ROM file from the below given options.
  • Click here to download CM11s 33R file, Android v4.4.4 KitKat for OnePlus One.
  • Click here to download OTA update for 33R to 38R
  • Click here to download OTA update for 38R to 44S
  • Copy the file and paste it to the root directory of your Oneplus One's internal storage's root directory.
  • Switch off your smartphone. Then press and hold the power and volume down together.
  • The device will restart in the Recovery mode.
  • Take a back-up of all your current data.
  • Once done, navigate to Wipe>>Advance and then wipe cache, system, user data and Dalvik Cache.
  • Install the zip file. If any error message prompts, ignore it.
  • Reboot the Smartphone. The first boot will take some time. Hold on your patience.
  • Once the device starts, reboot to Recovery Mode again through the above told process and flash the files according to downgrade order.
