It appears like Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus is not free from superstition, at least if we are to go by the reports. The company is reportedly planning to release the OnePlus 5 in 2017 instead of the OnePlus 4. Why? Because Chinese consider number 4 as unlucky.
According to a report by PhoneRadar, OnePlus will release its flagship, the OnePlus 5 in the first half of 2017. It claimed that the company could skip OnePlus 4 just because number 4 is considered unlucky in China.

Interestingly, Vivo, which is under the umbrella of BBK Electronics like OnePlus and Oppo, released V5 after V3, skipping V4. So, it wouldn't come as a surprise if the OnePlus too avoid number 4 for its products.
Nothing much has been leaked about the OnePlus 5 but from what we have heard from reports so far, it may feature a 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, and a 6GB RAM. It could arrive in the second quarter of 2017.
OnePlus released its flagship OnePlus 3 earlier this year before launching an upgraded version, the OnePlus 3T last month.
It may be mentioned that the OnePlus 3T sports a 5.5-inch full HD Optic AMOLED screen with 1,080x1,920 pixels (401 ppi pixel density), powered by 2.35GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor, and runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow-based OxygenOS. It features a 64GB/128GB internal memory, a 6GB RAM, a 16MP main camera with Sony IMX298 senor, 1.12µm lens, OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation), EIS (Electronic Image Stabilisation), f/ 2.0 aperture and PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus, a 16MP camera with Samsung 3P8SP sensor, 1.0µm lens, EIS, PDAF and f/2.0 aperture, and a 3,400mAh battery with Dash Charge technology (5V, 4A).
