For those who have been eagerly waiting for the release of Nivin Pauly's romantic film "Premam", here is a development that might disappoint you.

The sources close to the industry has confirmed that "Premam", which was scheduled for 22 May, has now been postponed to 29 May. With this, it is now confirmed that Nivin Pauly will have a double treat as his "Ivide" will also be released on the same day.

Kerala box office is going to be more interesting with the release of the much-awaited Suriya-Nayanthara Tamil movie "Masss".

"Premam (Mal), eagerly awaited romance from dir Alphonse (nream fame) *ing #NivinPauly postponed from May 21 to 29," tweeted industry analyst Sreedhar Pillai

"Premam", directed by Alphonse Putheran of "Neram" fame, is one of the most awaited films of the year. The songs, which were released earlier, are among some of the popular numbers of the season.

"Premam" also has an impressive star cast, which include debutant Anupama Parameswaran, Vinay Forrt, Maniyanpilla Raju, Jude Anthany Joseph, Krishnasankar, Sabareesh Varma, Wilson Joseph, Soubin Sahir and Deepak Nathan.

When it comes to the behind-the-scenes crew, director Alphonse Putharen has roped in his trusted friends who worked with him in his first movie, "Neram". The cinematography is handled by Anand C Chandran while the music is composed by Rajesh Murugesan.

Meanwhile, "Ivide", starring Prithviraj, Nivin Pauly and Bhavana in the lead, is directed by ace film-maker Shyamaprasad. The film is touted to be a crime thriller set in Atlanta, the United States. Earlier, the trailer of the movie had also received some overwhelming response.

Box office in Kerala is expected to turn highly competitive with release of "Masss", considering Suriya's strong fan-base in Kerala.

However, failure of films like "Uttama Villain" and "Lingaa" in the state have proved that fan-base contributes nothing much to the success of films. Ultimately, only the films that stand out in quality can survive the tough competition that is awaiting them on 29 May.
