In a first, the National Investigation Agency(NIA) has been given permission to investigate the Kabul Gurdwara attack. This is for the first time that NIA will be investigating a case beyond the borders. According to sources, the NIA team is likely to fly to Kabul on Tuesday, September 1.
A team of six officers will investigate the attack on the Gurudwara in Kabul. This comes after amendment in the NIA Act, the investigating agency is now able to investigate any such cases outside the country in which the interest of any Indian or Indian has been affected.
The NIA had registered a case in this matter on April 1 and this marked the first case registered by the NIA over an International incident.
On March 25th, A terror attack took place on the Sikh shrine in Kabul's Shorbazar area in which at least 25 members of the Sikh community were killed.

Previously, the Islamic State Khorasan (ISKP) claimed responsibility for the terror attack on the Sikh shrine in Kabul's Shorbazar area on Wednesday morning in which at least 25 members of the Sikh community were killed.
While one suicide bomber detonated himself at the entrance, three IS terrorists stormed the shrine when around 150 people were inside.
Afghanistan's miniscule Sikh community is a religious minority in the country. There are only about 300 members of the community remaining in the war-torn country.
