Just a few weeks are left before the next big iteration of Halo comes around, exclusively for Xbox One. This will be the fifth iteration in the series, called Halo 5: Guardians and will bring a new side to the story of the Master Chief and the Covenant.

Speaking of the Covenant, there is some new information that has been passed on from the developers. In a recent official post on the Halo Waypoint blog, Halo 5: Guardians writer Jeff Easterling revealed that a number of alien vehicles have been revamped and provided with fresh aesthetics for the upcoming shooter.

While the story will mainly focus on the conflict between Master Chief and Agent Jameson Locke, the Covenants themselves are also going through a civil war on their home planet of Sanghelios. As revealed earlier, the civil war has now caused old factories to reopen as both sides engage in an arms race against one another.

Coming back to the subject on hand, in addition to the updated visuals for the vehicles, the rides have also been tweaked as far as functionality is concerned.

"For example, the Banshee aircraft now offers better protection with an energy shield equipped by default while the Ghost rapid attack vehicle has been enhanced with 'greater level of protection and higher performance'," a GameRant report states.

Apart from that, the Wraith plasma tank has been given an updated look and looks a bit smaller and more agile than previous versions seen in the past Halo games. You can check them out on the official Halo Waypoint website.

Deviating from the topic, as of now 343 Industries has also confirmed that initial work has started on Halo 6, with the developer currently in the planning phase of bringing the aforementioned title to life.

Halo 5: Guardians is currently set to launch for Xbox One on 27 October, 2015.

Stay tuned for more updates!
