A lot has been written about the new Ford Endeavour that is coming to the Indian market in its new avatar to cement its position as the premium SUV in its segment. Several dates have been linked to the launch of the new gen Ford Endeavour and finally it looks like the launch date has been almost confirmed, as the emerging reports on the web indicate that the model will break its cover in the first month of the new year.
While Ford has already confirmed that the new Ford Endeavour SUV will make its India debut in January, the latest buzz on the internet is that the SUV will be launched on 19 January. The company has started training its dealership service and sales personnel ahead of its January launch, reports Team BHP.
Caught on camera countless times, the latest one being the model parked at a dealership of the company in Chennai, Ford's new Endeavour is likely to be offered in two engine options --2.2-litre, 4-cylinder and 3.2-litre, 5-cylinder. While the former will be offered with optional automatic transmission in two-wheel drive version, the latter will get four-wheel drive configuration with automatic transmission.
To be pitted against Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, SsangYong Rexton and Hyundai Santa Fe, the third generation Endeavour has been developed on a new ladder-on-frame chassis and will also feature new independent coil-spring at the rear wheels.
In terms of dimension, the new full-sized seven-seater SUV measures 4893mm in length, 1862mm in width, 1837mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2850mm. The new Endeavour is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 22 to Rs 25 lakh.
