The long-wait to see the much-rumoured new Avenger cruiser in flesh is finally getting over, as the first ever spy shots of the motorcycles have hit the web, confirming the development of the new Bajaj cruiser.

The general consensus seems to be that the new Avenger will hit Indian showrooms during the festive season this year, with October touted as the probable launch time. Now, lending credence to the discussions is a new set of much-awaited Bajaj Avenger images that have hit the web with the bike ensconced at a dealership in India.

The latest spy shot of Avenger came from Motoroids and from the images one can make out the re-styled looks and colour scheme of the new Avenger. It looks like the Pune-based bike maker has prepared the new facelifted Avenger as a Harley Davidson Street 750 challenger. The new Bajaj Avenger seems to have got black-custom treatment like Street 750 with new black alloys, black engine and a black exhaust. Intriguingly, the new Avenger from the house of Bajaj also gets the 'Street' badging.

Other changes spotted on the New 'Avenger Street' cruiser are analog speedometer with digital trip meter readings along with and a blue-lit Bajaj logo.

As of now, details of the engine of new Avenger is not known, but rumours swirling on the web suggest that the new updated cruiser will also get the 200cc engine of Pulsar 200NS, which will deliver more power than the current engine.

The 200NS engine has the capacity to generate 23bhp at 9,500rpm and 18.3Nm of torque at 8,000rpm. We also hear that transmission in the new Avenger is likely to be handled by a six-speed gearbox, instead of the current five-speed unit.

Currently, the cruiser Avenger draws power from a 220cc single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled engine sourced from Pulsar 220 capable of churning out 19bhp at 8,400rpm and 17.5Nm of torque at 7,000rpm.
