Pune-based two wheeler maker Bajaj is expected to introduce new avatars of its cruiser Avenger in India during the festive season this year.
A lot has been written about the upcoming editions of Avenger. While some believe that the new Avenger will the same as the current model in the market, except for the few visual modifications, other reports said that the major tweak in the new line-up of avenger cruiser will be in the engine front.
Now lending credence to the discussion, a fresh batch spy shots of the upcoming Bajaj Avenger cruiser have emerged online.
Snapped by Motoroids, the latest clear spy shots of Bajaj Avenger show the two variants -- Avenger 220 Street and Avenger 220 Cruise, and for the first time, the latest images also confirm the engine of the new avatars of the cruiser.
Both the variants of Avenger in the picture carry the 220 badge along with the name, suggesting that the new editions of the Bajaj cruiser Avenger get the same 220cc single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled engine of the current one in the market.
Currently, the cruiser Avenger draws power from a 220cc single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled engine sourced from Pulsar 220 capable of churning out 19bhp at 8,400rpm and 17.5Nm of torque at 7,000rpm. It is not sure if Bajaj will re-tune this engine to deliver more power.
Talking about the new Avenger Cruise, from the images, the changes in this new edition seemed to be confined to the new paint job and graphics. And one can also see a new Cruise 220 badge on the side panel as well as on the fuel tank. The motorcycle also gets chrome-touch and revised pillion back support.
Coming to the second variant -- Avenger Street -- the model seemed to have got Harley Davidson Street 750 styling with new black colour treatment. The cruiser gets the 'Street' badging and red graphics. There seems to be new black alloys, black engine and a black exhaust.
Previous reports had said that new 'Avenger Street' cruiser also features analog speedometer with digital trip meter readings along with and a blue-lit Bajaj logo.
