Amazon Echo is one of the coolest gadgets for a smart home and best smart speaker currently available in the market, but it is more than two years old. Now, reports have claimed that its successor called Echo Show will be available for purchase very soon.

The news came close on the heels of Amazon selling Amazon Echo at a discounted price of $149.99, against the original price of $179.99. It sparked off rumours that the online retailer could have resorted to it to reduce inventories ahead of the launch of next-generation Amazon Echo codenamed Knight and now said to be called Echo Show.

Amazon is tight-lipped on Echo Show, but GSMArena has claimed in a report that it will be unveiled on Tuesday, May 9, and released into the market on June 28. It is expected to come with a price tag of $229.

The new Echo Show is expected to sport a 7.0-inch display with a built-in touchscreen and additional features like the ability to make telephone calls to other Echo devices and thus replace landline. Popular leakster Evan Blass aka @evleaks has even tweeted the picture of the said device.

Amazon Echo is a voice-activated smart Bluetooth speaker powered by intelligent personal assistant service Alexa. It provides immersive 360º omni-directional audio from Amazon Music, Spotify, Pandora, iHeartRadio, TuneIn and others on voice command and is powered with the ability to control several smart home gadgets.
