Following a 7.9 earthquake that struck Nepal on Saturday morning, tremors were felt in different parts of India reportedly killing about 45 people, including a child.

Death toll: Bihar — 30, Uttar Pradesh — 12, West Bengal — 3

Two people have died in Sitamarhi (Bihar), while two others have died in Jalpaiguri, after a wall collapsed, one person died in Bettiah (Bihar), three have died in Darbhanga and one in Chhapra..

The maximum death tolls have been reported from Motihari and Sitamarhi.

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has said that more than 133 people have been injured so far in the state.

India has also confirmed that two Indians have died in Nepal

Online media reports that various houses have been collapsed in Kushinagar (Uttar Pradesh), Siliguri (West Bengal) and a part of a building is also collapsed in Agra. Buildings were evacuated in Varanasi and Kamakhya temple's roof collapsed in Ayodhya (UP).

Following tremors, a school's railing also collapsed in Malda (West Bengal).

"We have asked administration to be alert and help anywhere they can," UP CM Akhilesh Yadav said, according to ANI.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said that India will lend full support to Nepal.

Aftershocks was felt in Delhi, Guwahati, Srinagar, Jaipur, Sikkim, Gujarat, Bihar, and West Bengal and even in Kerala.

According to the India Meteorological Department, Delhi quake measured 5 on Richter scale.

Reports from North India state that many came out of their homes and offices after they felt the earthquake and strong aftershocks.

Reports from Kerala also mention that minor aftershocks were felt in Kaloor, Kadavanthra, Edapally, Elamakkara, Panampally Nagar areas in Ernakulam. IMD has clarified that they were just tremors and not an earthquake.

Meanwhile, more than 686 people have been killed in Nepal and the death toll is expected to rise.
