Not a conspiracy theorist or just some commoner, this time an astronaut claims to have seen an 'organic, alien-like' creature on a Space Shuttle. Leland Melvin, who is an engineer at NASA, has recently claimed that what he has seen might as well be an extraterrestrial creature.

While having a discussion with a conspiracy theorist on social media, the ex-NFL football player, Melvin said that he saw the alien creature in Atlantis space shuttle's payload bay. At that point in time, the spacecraft was flying in an orbit above our home planet. According to the astronaut, when he informed the American space agency about it, NASA told him that what Melvin saw was probably nothing but broken ice and the movement of it caught his eye. As per the space agency, this is the most plausible explanation.

Melvin made the claims public on Twitter while having a discussion with Scott C. Waring, famously known for running the website UFO Sightings Daily.

"What's your outlook about the existence of intelligent alien life living in our solar system? Have you ever witnessed a UFO," Waring asked Melvin on the micro-blogging site. To this question, the 54-year-old astronaut answered that he has, indeed, seen something "translucent, curved, organic looking" when he was in Atlantis.

"I was about to say "Houston we have a problem" but know everyone spins-up when those words are uttered from a space vehicle," he joked.

While Mr. Melvin dismissed the UFO enthusiast's claim that NASA covered up an alien sighting, but he also stated, "'you never know."

So, it appears like we actually never know; anything is possible!
