Narcos season 2 ended with the death of its main character, Pablo Escobar. With that, fans are wondering about the upcoming season of this Netflix series.
The filming of season 3 is underway as the official Narcos account announced that filming has officially begun, revealing the first photo.
As reported by Deadline, Andrea Londo, who is the newest addition to the cast of this hit Netflix series, will be seen in the role of Maria. Maria is a young Colombian beauty queen and described as clever and knows how to survive.
Adding on that, Pretty Little Liars star Nicholas Gonzales will also be introduced next season as an American DEA agent named Lopez, who will work closely with the drug cartel Cali.
Another new regular cast member in season 3 is Kerry Bishe, playing the role of Christina, who has a Colombian husband who is involved in the drug cartel.
Pedro Pascal has been confirmed to be reprising his role as DEA agent Javier Pena. Now fans have to wait to see whether Wagner Moura and Boyd Holbrook will also be appearing in the next season of Narcos while Wangner Mouna is expected to appear in some flashback scenes.
The past two seasons of Narcos did focus on drug cartel Pablo Escobar (played by Wagner Moura) by re-creating the 1993 Medellin rooftop shootout that brought down the real-life patron. Season 3 is going to focus on the life of another drug cartel called Cali Cartel, which took charge after Medellin's fallout. With that, DEA Agent Javier Pena is definitely coming back. However, it is still not confirmed if Boyd Holbrook will also come back as Murphy, Pena's partner.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Narcos showrunner Eric Newman confirmed that Gilberto will be a big part of season 3, there are four Cali godfathers in play: Rodriguez brothers Gilberto and Miguel (Francisco Denis), Pacho Herrera (Alberto Ammann) and a fourth named 'Chepe' who has yet to enter the Narcos universe.
Narcos Season 3 will launch in 2017, likely at the same period that the first two seasons were released.
Earlier this year, Netflix released a teaser of Narcos season 3. Meanwhile, a fourth season of the series has also been commissioned.
