Ace filmmaker R Narayana Murthy, who is known for his revolutionary movies, has reportedly rejected director Puri Jagannath's offer to play a cameo role in Junior NTR's "Temper".

Puri Jagannath is a great admirer of R Narayana Murthy and has also dedicated his film "Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu" to him. He wanted the revolutionary filmmaker to feature in his upcoming film "Temper" and hence had reportedly created a special role for him opposite Junior NTR.

"Puri has a soft corner for this Leftist actor for his single-minded devotion in churning out revolutionary films. So, Puri designed a special role for him opposite NTR in his latest film "Temper", a source told The Times of India.

He was impressed with the role. "Initially, R Narayana Murthy liked the role, and even met NTR and appeared willing to move from the comfort of his off-beat movies to the rough and tumble of commercial medium. But after a few weeks, the actor called up and declined the offer," the source added.

But the filmmaker turned down the offer stating that he was not interested to switch over to commercial cinema. "Narayana Murthy didn't want to move to mainstream cinema and was content making his kind of movies," TOI quoted the source as saying.

The makers of "Temper" had reportedly offered Narayana Murthy a hefty sum for the cameo. A source close to the production house has admitted that the makers had approached the filmmaker, but it declined to divulge the details of how much money was offered to him.

"It's true that we approached Narayana Murthy for a key role, but I can't talk about money, and anyway he declined the offer," the source told TOI.

Junior NTR and Kajal Aggarwal are playing the lead roles in Temper, while Prakash Raj, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Ajaz Khan, Ali, Posani Krishna Murali, Tanikella Bharani, Subbaraju, Vennela Kishore, Jaya Prakash Reddy, Sapthagiri, Ramaprabha, Pavithra Lokesh, Kovai Sarala and Madhurima appear in supporting cast.
