Actor Mohanlal's blockbuster movie "Narasimham" redefined his image as a hero and a superstar 16 years ago by doing tremendous business and record collections at the Kerala box office.

The Shaji Kailas directorial -- first released in 2000 -- is still one of the best movies of Mohanlal and as part of the film's 16th anniversary, the makers are planning to re-release the hit movie in theaters in seven districts in Kerala, creating yet another history. The movie will have its special screening in Ernakulam, Alappuzha, Thrissur, Kottayam, Kannur, Pathanamthitta and Kollam on 26 January.

Fans are eagerly waiting for the movie's special screening and reports suggest that the tickets for the shows have already been sold out in most of the theatres.

Meanwhile, as part of the 15th anniversary of the film, "Narasimham" was re-released at Golden Cinemas in Dubai last year and the houseful show was also attended by Mohanlal, director Shaji Kailas and many other celebs.

Made on a budget of about Rs 2 crore by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirwad Cinemas, "Narasimham" reportedly collected more than Rs 22 crore and also completed 200 days of its theatrical run becoming the first Malayalam flick to achieve this rare feat.

The cast of the mass entertainer includes Thilakan, NF Varghese, Jagathi Sreekumar, Aishwarya, Bharathi, Spadikam George, Kanaka, Kalabhavan Mani, TP Madhavan, Maniyanpilla Raju, Narendra Prasad, Sai Kumar, Narayanan Nair, VK Sreeraman, Augustine and Bheeman Raghu in pivotal roles and megastar Mammootty in a cameo role.

The famous dialogue "Ne Po Mone Dinesha" of Mohanlal is still used by the actor's fans and his character "Induchoodan" is considered to be one of his best performances till date.
