Arjun Bijlani, who was last seen as the main lead in Ekta Kapoor's super successful show "Naagin," is teaming up with the producer for her next ambitious series.

Arjun has apparently been finalised for the male lead role in new show "Pardes Mein Hai Meraa Dil," which is inspired from Bollywood hit film "Pardes," starring Shah Rukh Khan and Mahima Chaudhry. Arjun will play the role of Anand, a character which is similar to Shah Rukh's role in the film. "Pardes Mein Hai Meraa Dil" will see Drashti Dhami as the female lead.

Earlier, it was reported that Shaleen Malhotra, who is best remembered as Arjun in action-thriller show "Arjun," was roped in as the male lead. But the report said that the actor had to opt out of the project due to some creative differences between him and the makers. This was supposed to be Shaleen's comeback on the small screen after a long hiatus.

"Shaleen is definitely a dedicated and talented actor. But with Arjun already gaining prominence in the Balaji camp thanks to the success of Naagin, the head honchos in the production have decided to get him in place of Shaleen. It came as a shocking development for us too. Shaleen had even done a mock shoot with Drashti and it had come out wonderfully well. Lets see how things work out with Arjun," a source told Tellychakkar.com.

While this piece of news may disappoint fans of Shaleen, Arjun's fans will surely be happy to see him sharing screen space with popular actress Drashti, who was last seen on "Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani."

In other news, there were reports that another Bollywood film "Chori Chori Chupke Chupke" would be remade into a TV series. The yet-to-be titled show would deal with the sensitive subject of surrogacy and would reportedly star Sanjeeda Sheikh, Siddharth Shukla and Jasmin Bhasin in lead roles.
