Samsung is very likely to release its upcoming flagship device, the Galaxy S6, earlier than expected at the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2015) in March. Some reports claim that it will see the light of day on 2 March but the company is yet to confirm the release date.

Major market research companies and securities companies are upgrading the quarter 1 (Q1) earnings outlook for Samsung Electro-Mechanics (SEM), according to a report by ETNews. SEM is expected to grow owing to early release of the Galaxy S6. It went on to claim that both OMS Business Division and ACI Business Division may do well after the plans to launch the next-generation device early by two or three weeks.

"While SEM had a hard time last year, they improved their production efficiency and revamped their organization to a considerable extent," said a securities analyst, as reported by ETNews. "As SEC's smartphone market share is rebounding, the performance of SEM, which supplies key materials and parts to SEC, will improve as well."

Hype around the Galaxy S6, codenamed "project Zero," is so far so good with reports suggesting major overhaul from its predecessor. Mobifo (via SamMobile) reported citing AnTuTu benchmark that the device might come with features like qHD screen with 1440 x 2560 pixels, octa-core 64-bit processor, Android 5.0 Lollipop and 15.9MP camera.

However, AnTuTu benchmark cited by CNMO (via Phone Arena) contradicts the report by Mobifo. It claimed that Samsung's next-generation smartphone would boast of features like a 5.5-inch display with 1440 x 2560 pixels, Exynos 7420 processor, Android 5.0 Lollipop, 20MP main camera and 5MP front snapper, and 32GB of internal memory and 3GB RAM.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 will clash with other flagship devices like Sony Xperia Z4, HTC One (M9), and LG G4 at the MWC 2015 to be held from 2-5 March.
