Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone came to cheer for Mumbai City FC at their home ground in the DY Patil Stadium on Thursday as they took on Kerala Blasters in a crucial bottom-of-the-league clash.

They wanted the match to have some 'Tamasha', but it didn't turn out a really entertaining one for one side, as the score remained 1-1 following the end of the game. Aguilera opened the scoring for the home side, but Antonio German provided a late equaliser to give his side one point.

The result hasn't affected the table much, though.

Only one team could make use of the first half and that was Mumbai City FC. The hosts looked threatening right from the start and Sony Norde remained a constant danger for the Kerala Blasters defence.

The Haitian's powerful shot on goal in the 4th minute itself breezed over the bar, and not only that, the Mohun Bagan star also made life real difficult for KBFC fullbacks Deepak Mondal and Saumik Dey in the flanks.

The entire Mumbai attack, featuring the likes of Saran Singh, Sunil Chhetri, Subash Singh and Norde, combined to force opposition keeper Sandip Nandy make a save of the highest level. The resulting corner taken by Norde saw the goal, as Juan Aguilera capitalised on the loose ball punched away by Nandy to slot home a powerful volley in the 25th minute.

For the visitors, Josu Currais was the one pulling all the shots after some good interplay among Joan Coimbra, Antonio German, and himself. The Spanish midfielder had a couple of good efforts on goal, but Subrata Paul remained a tough man to beat.

It was unfortunate that the Indian custodian's injury in the first half saw him getting replaced by Debjit Majumder in the second half. Kerala Blasters started the half well with a sterner determination as German and Chris Dagnall had a go on goal on many-an-occasions.

The away side waited until the fag end of the match to get the equaliser as Antonio German capitalised on a defensive howler from Subash Singh to slot home Deepak Mondal's well-chipped ball in the 88th minute of play.

The home side however almost got the lead back the next moment itself as a wonderful build up between Frederic Piquionne and Chhetri saw a timely challenge from the Kerala Blasters defence. Both teams shared spoils following the 1-1 draw, and both of their fate of qualifying to the ISL playoffs is all but over.
