Motorola Launches Moto E (2 Gen); See What's New in Next Generation Budget Smartphone [Video]Motorola Blog (Official)

Lenovo owned Motorola Mobility on Tuesday (10 March) officially launched the second generation Moto E in India.

As expected, the company has confirmed that only 3G based Moto E (2 Gen) model will go on sale on Wednesday 00:00 am midnight (that's technically on 12 March) for ₹6,999 on Flipkart.

As far as 4G-LTE based Moto E (2 Gen) is concerned, Motorola (via Twitter) has said that it will definitely be made available in India soon, but didn't specify the release time-frame.

For the uninitiated, the 4G variant of Moto E (2 Gen), which was unveiled with 3G model in late February, is compatible only with telecommunication network bands in USA. The company might have to test and re-calibrate modem chip in the new Moto E to make it compatible with India network bandwidth.

Even Motorola's new foster parent company Lenovo is testing its own device A7000 in India for early launch this month.

As of now there is no official word on how much Moto E (2 Gen) units will be up for grabs, but if history is taken as any indication, Motorola might have made necessary arrangement so that there are enough devices in the inventory to meet the demand in India.

Even Moto G (2 Gen), which went on sale a few months ago, neither faced an out-of-stock situation nor saw any glitches in payment mode after learning lessons from the Moto G (1 Gen) flash sale fiasco in February 2014.
