Motorola unveiled its flagship device, the Moto X Style, which is known as Moto X Pure Edition in the US, along with the Moto X Play last month and it is expected to hit the stores very soon. Now, reports have it that the devices could be released in the US with different names.

The Moto X Style and Moto X Play are expected to be released on 3 September, more than a month after it was announced. But nothing is confirmed as of now. The devices are expected to be available in 55 countries, including US when launched.

According to a report by Android Police, the recently unveiled Moto X Play could come to US as DROID Maxx 2. It claims that it has received some photos of a device with Verizon and DROID labels in the rear panel but has a lot of similarities with the Moto X Play, including looks and specifications like 5.5-inch 1080p screen, Snapdragon 615 SoC processor, 2 GB RAM, 21 MP main camera, and a 3,630 mAh battery.

However, the report said that the leaked device has only 8.14 GB internal memory compared to 16/32 GB seen in the Moto X Play, though a microSD card can be a good substitute. It went on to claim that the Moto X Style or Moto X Pure Edition could be released in US as DROID Turbo 2.

The report went on to claim that both the DROID Maxx 2 and DROID Turbo 2 should hit Verizon stores before winter holidays begin without mentioning a tentative date.

It may be mentioned that the Motorola Moto X Style aka Moto X Pure Edition sports a 5.7-inch QHD TFT LCD screen with 2560x1440p (520 ppi pixel density) protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, comes packed with 16/32/64 GB internal storage (expandable up to 128 GB), 3 GB RAM, 21 MP camera, 5 MP front camera and a 3,000 mAh battery.
