Popular UV-maker Mahindra and Mahindra continues testing its upcoming mini-SUV S101 on Indian roads, and the test mule has been spotted once again.

Although little has changed since the last time we saw it, the repeated sightings of the model suggest the country is getting closer to the launch of the new S101. Mahindra is expected to pull the wraps off its mini-SUV in the third week of January. The latest spy shots of Mahindra S101 came from MotorBeam.

Mahindra S101, a mini-SUV to rival Maruti's tall-boy WagonR is built on an all-new monocoque platform. Under the hood, the S101 is expected to include 1.2-litre diesel and petrol mills. While the petrol mill of the Mahindra S101 is likely to be an all-new engine developed by the company, the diesel mill could be the watered-down version of 1.5-litre mHawk engine. Supposedly called the XUV100, Mahindra S101 is expected to get manual and automatic gearbox.

Expected to be priced round Rs 4 lakh, Mahindra S101 will get pillar-mounted rear-door handles like Chevrolet Beat. Inside the cabin, the S101 is expected to get a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, bench-like seats in the front and a touchscreen infotainment system.
