Mohanlal's Pulimurugan heading to Japan after Dulquer Salmaan's Charlie

After the superhit movie Charlie, the box office in Japan is set to welcome Mohanlal-starrer blockbuster Pulimurugan, the first Malayalam film to enter the prestigious Rs 100 crore club.

Pulimurugan will be released at Skip City Visual Plaza in Kawaguchi on November 20 and will be screened again at Aeon Cinema Ebina on November 26 by Celluloid Japan. However, unlike the Dulquer Salmaan-starrer, Charlie, that was screened with Japanese subtitles, the Vysakh directorial will have English subtitles during its screening in Japan.

The advance bookings for the shows at Aeon Cinema Ebina have started and the distributors have announced that the seats will be allotted on first-come, first-served basis.

The action thriller, which also stars Kamalini Mukherjee, Jagapati Babu, Bala and Lal in significant roles, has been penned by Udayakrishna. The big-budget movie, bankrolled by Tomichan Mulakupadam under the banner of Mulakupadam Films, has been continuing its good run by collecting tremendous box office collection from Kerala, rest of India, the US, the UK and the UAE.

Recently, Celluloid Japan had also released Prithviraj Sukumaran's revenge thriller Oppam, which was only opened to average response from audience, unlike the fabulous response Charlie garnered from the Japanese audience. The Martin Prakkat-directorial, which also stars Parvathy in the lead, made history by becoming one of the most-loved Indian movies in Japan.
