Mohanlal, the biggest Superstar in Mollywood, has lashed out at the #MeToo movement stating that it is a fad which is being used as a fashion by many people. The 'Odiyan' star also revealed that campaigns like 'Me Too' will not create any big problems in the Malayalam film industry.

"I do not consider Me Too exactly as a movement. It is basically a fad and is slowly emerging as a fashion for many people. There is actually no big problem in the Malayalam film industry. Anything like this will have a very short lifespan," said Mohanlal.

Mohanlal also added that incidents of sexual harassments may happen anywhere in life, and he made it clear that these events are not exclusively associated with the film industry.

The Superstar made these shocking remarks while talking at a press conference in Dubai. The press conference was conducted as a part of AMMA's upcoming stage show which aims to amass funds for Kerala Chief Minister's Disaster Relief Fund.

It should be noted that Mohanlal had received so many criticisms, especially from the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC) for taking a stand, in favour of Dileep in the actress sexual assault case. Many people had also alleged that Mohanlal and AMMA are celebrating patriarchal values and misogyny in the case in which Dileep is one of the prime accused.

On the acting front, Mohanlal is currently busy with the shooting of his new movie 'Lucifer' which marks the directorial debut of actor Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film stars Manju Warrier in the role of female lead, while the supporting star cast includes Vivek Oberoi, Tovino Thomas and Kalabhavan Shajon.

Mohanlal's upcoming release is 'Odiyan' which is expected to hit the theatres on December 14, 2018. The trailer of 'Odiyan' was released recently, and it has already gone viral on the internet.
