The most popular American sitcom "Modern Family" is all set to hit the TV screen from 24 September.

When the comedy series returns on ABC, the viewers will get to watch some existing developments in the show.

The premiere episode of the brand new season of ABC comedy series is titled as "The Long Honeymoon". As the name suggests, episode one will be on the honeymoon trip of newly married couple Mitchell Pritchett (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cameron Tucker (Eric Stonestreet), reports DNA.

However, the honeymoon in Mexico will not go exactly according to the plans as Mitchell decides to return home quickly and he will be seen aclimatising with the new life much quicker than his new husband Cameron, as per the spoilers of Entertainment Weekly.

Meanwhile, ABC has also released the names of its next two episodes: "Do Not Push" and "The Cold". The synopsis of these episodes are yet to be revealed.

However, the five time Emmy Award winning show will take some new turn in the blissful summers of Dunphy house. The viewers will witness a shift in the mood at Dunphy clan when Alex returns home from his humanitarian trip.

The fans of "Modern Family" will also get to see some new faces in season six. The veteran actor Steve Zahn will join the team as Ronnie and he will be seen as the head of the family, who has moved to Dunphys recently, according to DNA.

Emmy and Tony Award winner Tyne Daly, Kristen Johnston and Andrea Anders will also appear in the show in guest roles.

Daly will portray Mrs Plank, who is Lily's stern old-school teacher, whereas Johnston is said to play the role of Mitchell's law firm colleague and Anders will be the wife of Dunphys horrible neighbour.

It is yet to be seen whether the series will once again receive thumbs up from both the critics and the viewers like its previous seasons.
