Minecraft coming on Wii U?Mojang

Nintendo fans, who wished about Minecraft coming to Wii U or 3DS, might see it becoming a reality if what Mojang has been teasing turns out to be true.

Minecraft has come to most of the gaming platforms besides the Nintendo consoles. Though the 3DS might not fit the bill due to its technical limitations, there is nothing that can stop this indie game from coming to the Wii U, which has the GamePad, with touch screen and physical screen controls. There is also the new Nintendo NX console that the game can be released on.

Mojang has chosen its words carefully in its interview with MCV where it has spoken about such a possibility, revealed Nintendolife.

Mojang COO Vu Bui has revealed that the company still has plans of expanding its game to other platforms. This tease comes even after the company's acquisition by Microsoft.

Minecraft has so far been successful in all the platforms it was released on.

"If I had my way, we'd be on everything. We want to continue to be available to all players, and that means being on new platforms because everyone uses something different," Bui said.

He later clarified on why Nintendo was never a platform for Minecraft.

"...I've never heard a reason why we haven't ended up on Wii U or 3DS. It just hasn't happened yet," he added.

Though Microsoft bought Mojang, and Mojang itself being a small company, it can be guided by Microsoft helping Minecraft to be released on Nintendo's NX or Wii U consoles. This might also help Microsoft to extend its reach.

We can only wait until there is more news on the same from Mojang or Nintendo.
