Indigenous smartphone maker Micromax has launched the new flagship handset Canvas Knight 2 in India.
The new phone is the successor of the 2014 marquee model Canvas Knight A350. Like its predecessor, Canvas Knight 2 too flaunts the metal (steel) frame around the edges and glass finish on the rear-side.
Inside, it comes with huge upgrade as well and key improvements include 4G-LTE modem, 64-bit class Snapdragon 615 Octa-core SoC (System on Chip) backed by 2GB RAM with expandable memory (+ 32GB), which was sorely missed in the 2014 model.
Other stipulated features include, 13.0-megapixel camera with LED flash, Sony IMX214 CMOS sensor, Largan 5-phyiscal lens, auto-focus, a 5mp snapper on the front and a 2260 mAh battery, which can run the smartphone for close to 335 hours under standby mode.

According to NDTV Gadgets, Micromax Canvas Knight 2 will hit Indian stores on 10 June for ₹16,999. As a promotional offer, network carrier partner Airtel is also giving free 4G SIM cards with "Double Data" bundle. This offer apparently doubles the normal internet pack upon activating the SIM on the new phone.

The new Micromax Canvas Knight 2 will be up against the popular Chinese brands Xiaomi Mi 4i, ZTE Nubia Z9 Mini, Meizu M1 Note, Sony Xperia M4 Aqua, Asus Zenfone 2 and soon to be released Phicomm Passion 660.
