Mercedes-Benz India will launch high performance sports car AMG GT on 24 November at AMG Performance Center, T&T Motors, Mathura Road in New Delhi.

The successor of the mighty SLS AMG will be the 14th product to be launched by the German luxury car manufacturer's Indian subsidiary as part of the "15 models in 2015" product strategy.

AMG GT is available in standard GT and GT S trim in the global market. In India, the sports car will be available in GT S trim only. AMG GT is the second sports car to be completely developed by the Mercedes-AMG engineers at Affalterbach, Germany.

Mercedes AMG GT S is powered by 4.0-litre V8 twin turbo petrol engine that develops 503bhp at 6250rpm and 650Nm of torque mated to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. AMG V8 engine has two turbochargers that are not mounted on the outside of the cylinder banks, but inside the V configuration that benefits in compact engine design, optimum better performance from the turbochargers and low exhaust gas emissions. The car runs from 0-100kmph in just 3.8 seconds before reaching electronically limited 310kmph.

AMG GT sheds the gull wing doors of its predecessor for a regular door, which is more practical. The design of the car is more contemporary now and comes with rounded edges.

GT S comes as standard with a mechanical rear-axle locking differential with an electronically controlled rear-axle locking differential. The AMG Ride Control sports suspension with electronically controlled damping which is exclusive for GT S trim. The suspension setup lets the driver to adjust the damping characteristics at the push of a button in the AMG Drive Unit or by using the AMG Dynamic Select drive modes. The three available stages are: Comfort, Sport and Sport plus.

AMG GT S will be the fifth high performance AMG car launched in India this year.
