With this, Meizu m2 is expected to last 23 hours on 2G phone call, 10 hours on 4G, 12 hours on Wi-Fi or 680 hours of standby.

Original story

After strengthening its roots in China Meizu is looking to do the same in India, which is the primary market of focus for many smartphone companies around the world. Meizu confirmed its next smartphone in the lineup, the Meizu M2 in India that will be available on 12 October.

In a fresh update on Twitter Thursday night, Meizu revealed that registrations for the M2 smartphone open on Friday.

The most intriguing details about the handset, such as its price and retailer where it will be on sale, were concealed in the status update. Since the registrations are usually carried out by the retailer, at least one detail will be revealed later today. In fact, chances are Meizu might even reveal the price to convince consumers to sign up early to buy the device.

Meizu M2 features and specifications look promising. By the looks of it, the handset is widely expected to be a sub-Rs. 10,000 smartphone. Meizu M2 was launched in China in July for CNY 599, which roughly translates to Rs. 6,200. If that pricing is right, the M2 is bound to challenge a lot of strong contenders. If the rumours are to be believed, Meizu might sell the M2 smartphone exclusively via Amazon India.

Going for the specifications, the M2 smartphone is powered by a 64-bit MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor clocking speeds at 1.3GHz. It is supported by Mali-T720 GPU for the graphics and 2GB DDR3 RAM. The handset features a 5-inch HD display with 1280 x 720 pixel screen resolution, protected by Asashi Dragontrail glass.

Meizu M2 continues the company's signature design with its polycarbonate unibody and a metal like premium finish. Camera lovers are going to enjoy the device's 13-megapixel CMOS sensor by Samsung with f/2.2 aperture for rich and sharp images. There's an LED flash unit to bring better images in dark. On the front side of the device, the M2 packs a 5MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and upgraded FotoNation beautifying system.

Like all other Meizu phones, the M2 runs on the company's highly customised Android 5.1 Lollipop based Flyme 4.5, which is expected to boost performance and preserve battery. The handset offers 16GB onboard storage and dual SIM slots, one of which acts as a microSD while using single SIM. The phone also supports 4G FDD-LTE and TD-LTE for high-speed browsing.

These are the specs and feature of the Meizu M2, but the main buzz is around the price and availability, which we will update soon.
