It had been a while since the upcoming Maruti Swift Dzire facelift hit headlines, and now the car is back in news, this time with more details including the probable launch date.

It is no secret that Maruti, the country's largest car maker is gearing up to launch the facelifted versions of its best selling hatchback Swift and its sedan Swift Dzire. As the launch of Swift facelift was expected by the end of October, a new report of AutoCar India reveals that Maruti' Swift Dzire facelift is also ready to take to the road.

Although the exact launch details of Swift Dzire facelift is still under wraps, going by the latest reports, the car will follow the launch of Swift facelift in the country and in all probability; the Swift Dzire facelift will see the light of the day by the end of December.

The facelift model of the Swift Dzire will not see dramatic changes except for some cosmetic upgrades. Mechanically, the car will continue to use the same 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and 1.3-litre multijet diesel engines and the styling of the car will remain the same.

The upcoming Swift Dzire facelift is likely to get new front fascia with wider air dam, front grille and reworked headlamps. There is also a new body colour on the menu and inside the cabin, the Dzire facelift is expected to get features like electrically adjustable wing mirrors, push-button start with smart-key access, new upholstery and six-speaker sound system with Bluetooth and iPod compatibility music system.

In the domestic market, the new avatar of Swift Dzire facelift will take on the likes of Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent and Tata Zest and it is expected to get a price tag in the range of ₹5 lakh to ₹8 lakh.

Meanwhile, Maruti has started accepting bookings for its new Swift facelift in the country with a token amount of ₹10,000. Expected to be on the road in coming days, the new Swift is likely to feature power-folding wing mirrors and silver L-shaped elements for fog light enclosures.

Previous reports have indicated that the base variant LXi will get a price tag of ₹4,42,000, while the other petrol models will get a price tag in the range of ₹4,49,000 to ₹5,90,000. The Swift facelift diesel models are expected to fall in the price range of ₹5,56,000 to ₹6,95,000.
