2014 Maruti Swift facelift, which has made numerous appearances on the web through spy pics and reports is now ready to take to the road.

The new teaser image, which was released on the Facebook handle of the company suggests that the car launch will happen soon in the country and also gives us a better idea of its name.

The company describes the new avatar of Swift as "Swift Show Stopper", and the tagline reads "The race has begun, Are you in?"

We do not know the name of the Swift Facelift, but the emphasis on the letter 'S' in the new teaser image tells us that the car could be monikered as Swift S.

Expected to reach the Indian market during this festive season, the new Swift facelift looks traditional in design and is likely to carry the same tried and tested 1.2-litre petrol and the 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engines.

There are also rumours that the new facelift will get an upgraded engine, however, nothing has been confirmed yet. From what we heard so far, the engine will come mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.

As reported earlier, the new avatar of Maruti's popular hatchback is likely to get LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL), Reverse Parking Sensor along with minor tweaks in the front and rear bumpers. The expected changes include fresh alloy wheels, electrically adjustable ORVMs, new front fascia with reworked grille, headlights and front bumper.

Inside the cabin, the vehicle is likely to get new fabric upholstery, start and stop button, and new audio system with Bluetooth, Aux-in and iPod connectivity. Once it hits the market, the Swift facelift will be pinned to rival Hyundai Elite i20, 2014 Volkswagen Polo, Fiat Punto EVO and Tata Bolt and is likely to get an aggressive price tag.
