The upcoming Ciaz sedan from Maruti Suzuki has been testing on Indian roads for quite some time now, but the test mules we have seen so far were camouflaged. Now a new set of images has hit the web and this time completely undisguised spy shots of the Ciaz.

The folks at GaadiWaadi have managed to capture the uncamouflaged images of Ciaz straight from Maruti Suzuki's Manesar plant for the first time and judging by the images, Maruti's newest offering in the C-segment seems ready to take off.

The Ciaz, a sedan based on the Suzuki Authentics concept car, was first caught on camera in last September and ever since, the rumour mills have been churning news one after the other regarding the car's design, price and most importantly launch date. Now it looks like the Ciaz has reached the final stages of its production and is all set to hit Indian domestic market.

From the latest set of images, the Maruti's new competitor in the sedan segment looks stylish in its design and the car is seen with chrome-finished radiator grille and modish headlamps units.

We can also see Outside Rear View Mirrors (ORVM) with clear lens turn indicators, but the car seemed to have missed on LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL). Fewer features of the Maruti's new Ciaz bear a resemblance to Honda City.

Ciaz, the sedan that will replace Maruti's underperforming SX4 is said to have received Suzuki Kizashi-inspired interior.

The car is speculated to get features like alloy wheels, engine start button, rear AC vents and front armrest along with dual tone black and beige interiors and leather seats.

Though there has been no official statement as yet, for performance the new Ciaz is likely to use the same 1.3 litre Multijet diesel or 1.4 litre K Series petrol engine of Ertiga.

The 1.4 litre K series (K14B) petrol engine is capable of producing 95 PS power and 130 Nm peak torque and 1.3 litre DDIS diesel motor has a capacity to churn out 90 PS power and 200 Nm peak torque.

We do not know yet the power transmission of the new Ciaz, but last we heard is that car will get manual and CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission).

Once the new Ciaz hits the market, the car will be squared off against Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Volkswagen Vento in the sub-continent and we expect the company to price its new sedan within the ₹7.2 lakh-₹10.5 lakh price brackets.

Previous reports suggested that Maruti will launch its new Ciaz in the market in September and the booking for the new sedan is likely to commence in August.
