A fake story claiming the U.S. President Barack Obama's daughter Malia Obama is "confirmed" pregnant has set the Internet into a frenzy.

The report was published by a satirical news site Empire New State – which is very popular for doing fake stories with catchy headlines.

Part of the report read: "In what promises to be the biggest White House scandal since intern fellatio, President Barack Obama's daughter, 16-year-old Malia, has confirmed that she is pregnant. Sources say Malia is now in her second trimester. Mother and First Lady, Michelle Obama, says that although she will be a grandmother much younger than she planned, teen pregnancy runs in the family."

To make the story believable, the site also included fake quotes from Malia. According to the hoax story, Malia Obama was excited about her pregnancy and was already busy making future plans with the baby.

The story also included a made-up quote from First Lady Michelle Obama, who said: "Teen pregnancy is common in our family on her father's side of course. My mother-in-law had Barack when she was 18, so I see where Malia gets it from. I'm just so excited to decorate the nursery. The White House hasn't seen a baby since oh, 1884 or so."

Critics took to the social media to slam the story. A Twitter user, @jessicaaajaimes, posted: "Yall must to stupid AF to think Malia Obama is pregnant. Do some "reliable research" before believing things posted on the Internet."

Another person named Jay wrote: "Malia Obama is not pregnant, don't believe everything you see on the internet."

The First Daughters have been in the news a lot lately. Recently, 33-year-old football player Darnell Dockett had posted a picture of Malia Obama in tight jeans on Instagram. It was subject of much criticism after which Dockett clarified, "Yall chill I never said anything about the presidents daughter "not one thing" all I did was repost my boy IG pic. Get your facts straight!"
