A new prototype of Mahindra's upcoming mini-SUV, codenamed S101, has been snapped while undergoing testing, this time giving a sneak peek into the front-grille of the model.

Snapped by MotorOctane, the latest spy shots of Mahindra S101 -- which is also known as KUV100 and XUV100 -- show the production-ready version of the model. It appears that the S101 is going through its final testing ahead of its launch and pictures reveal the front-grille of the SUV along with the headlamp.

Mahindra has been testing its S101 on the Indian roads for quite a while now. Under the hood, S101 is expected to include 1.2 diesel and petrol mills. From what we hear, the petrol mill of the Mahindra S101 is likely to be an all-new engine developed by the company, the diesel mill could be the watered-down version of 1.5-litre mHawk engine.

The upcoming six-seater mini-SUV from the house of Mahindra is expected to get a 3+3 seating configuration with bench-type seat in the front.

On the safety front, Mahindra S101 is speculated to host features such as anti-lock braking system, electronic brake-force distribution, four airbags and an electronic stability programme.

Mahindra is expected to launch this new S101 SUV this fiscal year with a competitive price tag of around Rs 4.5 lakh.
