It looks like the name of Mahindra's upcoming compact SUV, codenamed S101, has almost been confirmed as emerging reports on the web suggest that the model could be called KUV100.
The folks at MotorOctane have posted a purported nomenclature of Mahindra's upcoming model, which reads KUV100.
Although it is not sure which of the models of Mahindra will get the name, the report says that KUV100 is likely to be the final name of S101, which is expected to make its market entry this year.
The 'K' in KUV300 is believed to stand for 'Krossover'.
It has to be noted that there have been other names such as CUV100 and XUV100 also linked to S101. However, it remains to be seen which of them will actually make it to the final list.
Mahindra S101, a sub-four metre compact SUV is built on monocoque and is likely to draw power from the company's new engine line- up.
The compact SUV is expected to get 3+3 seating configuration with bench-type seat in the front. It is likely to include anti-lock braking system, electronic brake-force distribution, four airbags and an electronic stability programme.
Mahindra is likely to price S101 aka KUV100 around Rs 5 lakh.
