The automobile industry is bouncing back after the break following the Diwali season. Many automobile manufacturers have announced price hike from 1 January that will result in better sales in December, and some other have announced price discounts.

The latest to join the band wagon is the Mahindra & Mahindra. The major utility vehicle manufacturer of the country has announced benefits from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1.75 lakh depending on the model. The offer is valid till the 28th of this month.

The Verito sedan, which has been one of the volume sellers for the company, is now available with price benefits up to Rs 50,000, while the Quanto is cheaper by Rs 1 lakh. The bestselling SUV in the market, the Bolero, can bought with benefits of up to Rs 86,065. The Xylo MPV is available with a benefit up to Rs 83,000 while the XUV 500 is on sale with Rs 60,000 benefits. The Scorpio and the Rexton are available with benefits of up to Rs 80,000 and Rs 1.75 lakh, respectively.

The benefits can be cash discount, exchange bonus, corporate discounts, offers on finance options, special goodies, accessories, etc. The offer will vary according to the city. The exchange bonus is applicable only via Mahindra X Mart or Mahindra's First Choice.

The offer can also be seen as a proactive move by the company to address the dip in sales after the Supreme Court banned registration of diesel-run SUVs and luxury cars with engine capacity of 2000cc in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). Mahindra is one of the worst affected by the decision. Mahindra will be calculating increased sales though, as the offers across the country will make up for loss of sales in Delhi.
