Mahindra's long awaited motorcycle, the Mojo 300, is all set to enter the market on 16 October. According to a report by Overdrive, the 300cc flagship motorcycle has completed all the testing and is ready for the launch. Bookings for the motorcycle had begun early this month; the booking amount is Rs 10,000.
Spy pictures of the Mojo 300 in fully undisguised form were circulating on the Internet even as the launch date was nearing. The motorcycle features a unique twin-headlamp in black cowl and daytime running lights positioned above the headlamps. The motorcycle flaunts USD (Up Side Down) forks in dual colour tone and the bars that run under the fuel tank come in golden shade. Additionally, the swing arms are also draped in the same shade.
The Mojo will come with Pirelli Sport Demon tyres mounted on Y-spoke black alloy wheels. The motorcycle will feature disc brakes for both the wheels. The Mojo 300 will also feature tank mounted ignition key and chunky exhaust pipes.
The Mahindra Mojo 300 is powered by a 296cc liquid cooled, 4-stroke single-cylinder engine that can churn out power of 27bhp at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of segment leading 30Nm instead of the rumoured 25Nm at 6,500rpm.
The motorcycle will be priced under Rs 2 lakh and will be pitted against the likes of Kawasaki Ninja 300R, Honda CBR 250R/300R and KTM Duke.
Mahindra first showcased the Mojo prototype at the 2010 Auto Expo. Since then, the company has been working towards bringing the final product to India. Considering that it has taken more than five years to develop the motorcycle, auto lovers have high expectations from the Mojo 300.
