Mahindra has confirmed that the TUV300 will be launched on 10 September. The utility vehicle manufacturer also released a teaser image showing the front fender section from the left angle. The picture makes it clear that the compact SUV will run on 17-inch Ceat tyres and has sculpted wheel arches. The headlamp does resemble the Bolero headlights and the compact SUV seems to have higher ground clearance.

Previously known as the U301 compact SUV, the Mahindra TUV300 will feature typical boxy design and SUV features that include such as raised shoulders, high front nose and flat roof. Mahindra claims the design has been inspired by the battle tank and the vehicle will be built on an all-new platform.

It has been designed and developed in-house by the Mahindra design team and will come with a new mHawk80 engine, which is expected to be an updated version of the Quanto's 1.5-litre three-cylinder diesel motor.

The spy pictures floating around the Internet also suggest a new steering wheel with audio and Bluetooth controls.

The sub-four meter SUV will be surprisingly a seven seater. It will feature two jump seats facing each other like the one in the Quanto. However, space will be subjective here.

A sub-four meter vehicle makes the TUV300 eligible for the excise duty cut. That means it is safe to assume that the compact SUV would be priced at around Rs 7 lakh.
