Rajinikanth-KS Ravi Kumar's "Lingaa" is witnessing a drop in its collections at the worldwide box office. The film took grand openings in the first weekend, but its collections have dropped owing to mixed reviews.

The Rajinikanth-starrer minted over ₹80 crore in its first weekend and is expected to cross the ₹100 crore mark soon. The film will be completing one-week of theatrical run today (18 December). From Friday, "Lingaa" will enter the second week and it needs to be seen if the action drama will be able to pick up.

The Rajini starrer is expected to dominate screens in Tamil Nadu in its second weekend, but its collections might not see a huge growth considering Aamir Khan's "PK" is all set to storm the box office from 19 December.

"PK" is getting ready for a huge release in Chennai, which is one of the key markets for Bollywood films. The film is likely to take strong openings in the city as Aamir has a good fan base and some of his films have fared well at the box office.

"#PK is getting 2nd biggest screens in all Chennai 'Plexes .Will open big as @aamir_khan best B'wood opener in Chennai," tweeted entertainment industry tracker Sreedhar Pillai.

"PK" will be dominating the AP/Nizam screens as there are no big Telugu releases. With "Lingaa" Telugu version receiving average feedback, the film is unlikely to show growth in its business. "PK" will have the biggest release for a Bollywood film in Hyderabad. The release of the film might reduce the screen count for "Lingaa," thus affecting its business.

The Aamir-starrer is also likely to take big openings in Karnataka taking into account the response for the film's advance booking. Several theatres have opened reservations for the film and have received fantastic response from the fans. Bangalore is a major market for Bollywood films and "PK" is set for a grand start in the city.

In the overseas markets, "Lingaa" is dominating over Bollywood films. "PK" is likely to dethrone "Lingaa" and is set to rule the overseas box office.
