Top PC maker Lenovo is all set to launch the new budget 4G smartphone A6000 in India on 28 January.

Like its Chinese peer Xiaomi, Lenovo too in collaboration with Flipkart is hosting a flash sale tomorrow afternoon at 14:00 hrs.

To provide some perspective on the new device, we have listed some of its key aspects, based on which users can make an informed decision before buying the Lenovo A6000.

Here are 5 salient features of Lenovo A6000:

64-bit class Qualcomm SoC (System on Chip):

Lenovo A6000 houses a new generation 64-bit class Snapdragon 410 series quad-core processor manufactured by the industry leader Qualcomm.

One of the advantages of having a 64-bit processor is that the phone's performance and RAM management will be more optimised, so that the resources are efficiently used among the apps. Users are less likely to face a lag during multi-tasking.

4G-LTE connectivity:

Lenovo A6000 supports LTE (FDD) - Band 1, 3, 7, 20 (2600), LTE (TDD) - Band 40 (2300). With this connectivity feature, users can enjoy high-speed internet. They can download files with 150 mbps speed and upload data with 50mbps speed.

HD Display:

Besides 64-bit chipset, Lenovo A6000 is also the only smartphone in the market to feature 5.0-inch HD (1280x720p) screen in the sub-₹7,000 price range.

It also boasts of IPS (In-Plane Switching) display technology with 180-degree wide angle viewing feature.

[Note: Smartphone companies who market phones with full HD (1920x1080p), QHD (2560x1440p), etc are simply marketing gimmicks. Human eye cannot notice difference in pixel density between devices' screens beyond HD resolution]

Android Mobile OS:

Lenovo's A6000 runs on the Android 4.4.2 KitKat (with Vibe UI) world's most popular mobile operating system. This platform provides more than 1 million apps leaving users spoilt for choices.

Lenovo's subsidiary Motorola is slated to release latest Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS update to budget Moto E, so we believe A6000 being new to the market, it is most certain to get the new OS update as well.

Price:

Lenovo A6000 comes with ₹6,999 price-tag making it the cheapest 4G-LTE smartphone. It is the one of the very handful smartphones in the market to boast this 64-bit based high-end chipsets, which was first introduced in personal computers only few years ago.

Most of devices in the sub-₹7000 price range house sub-par MediaTek processors.

[Note: Prospective consumers are advised to get themselves registered for Flipkart flash sale. Registration window (HERE) has been open since 16 January (18:00 pm) and is slated close tonight (27 January) 23:59 pm]
