With the advancement of technology and social media, the rate of cyber crimes has increased way too much these days. Celebrities have often become victims of leaked photos and videos, and South Indian actress Asha Sarath is the latest to fall prey to a leaked video on social media.

The video, alleged to be the actress' look-alike, was widely shared on mobile messaging app Whatsapp. The actress has now filed a complaint with Kochi City Police Commissioner about it. 

UPDATE- The actress has also responded on the matter through her official Facebook handle.

Asha thanked everyone for caring and supporting her at the time of crisis.

"We all should join hands to ensure that women are respected and not humiliated," the actress writes on Facebook.

Asha, who became a familiar face in Malayalam entertainment industry with her character 'Jayanthi miss' in the popular serial "Kumkumapoovu" is now an integral part of big budget projects.

The actress, who delivered one of her best performances in Mohanlal's blockbuster film "Drishyam" as IG Geetha Prabhakar, also bagged the same role in its Tamil remake "Papanasam", which had Kamal Haasan in the lead role. She was also seen in the Kannada remake "Drishya". The Malayalam film was directed by Jeethu Joseph. 

The other major films of the actress include "Buddy", "Zachariayude Garbhinikal" and "Varsham", among others. Asha will be next seen in Kamal-Trisha starrer action thriller "Thoongavanam".

Earlier, South Indian actresses including Hansika Motwani, Anushka Shetty, Lakshmi Menon, Nayantara, Raai Laxmi, Pooja Kumar, Trisha, Rachana Narayankutty and "Parasparam" serial actress Gayathri Arun had fallen prey to MMS scandals.
