Halloween is here, and you are all set to dress up like ghosts and goblins. You had decided to get into costumes and mask yourself up like your fave film or TV character. But now, you don't have the time to source that stuff and still haven't decided what you are going to be donning tonight.

So, just for you, here's a list of the most popular, most searched (according to Google Trends) and easy-to-wear last-minute costume ideas for Halloween 2015.

The Joker

Call it the "Suicide Squad" fever building up, but fan-favourite Joker is one of the most popular get-ups this Halloween. The dark, intense character with a creepy smile will make a comeback in a new avatar portrayed by Jared Leto in the 2016 film. To look like the bad guy, all you need is to dye your hair green, paint your face white and eye black, and wear red lipstick to get that creepy smile.

Harley Quinn

According to Google Trends, this is the most popular costume this year. Harley Quinn is yet another character who will appear in 2016's "Suicide Squad". All you need to do is tie up your hair into pig tails — the ends of the hair can be coloured red and blue — dust white powder on your face, give a tint of pink on your cheekbone, wear a red lip colour and complete the look by donning a blue-red jacket and carrying a baseball bat.

Captain Jack Sparrow

A character popularised by Johnny Depp, Jack Sparrow (that's Captain Jack Sparrow to you!), the pirate from "Pirates of the Caribbean", is as yet an all-time Halloween favourite. You can rent the entire attire, easily available at all costume stores. All you need to sport is a pirate hat, sword, dreadlocks, and dramatic kohled eyes.

Zombies from "The Walking Dead"

"The Walking Dead" is back with Season 6, and has brought back with it the zombie fever for Halloween. This get-up doesn't take much effort. All you need to do is paint your face in the most horrific pattern, wear rags and walk erratically.

The killer from "Scream"

This has been the signature Halloween costume and attire ever since the film released in the 90s. Again, this is one of the easiest and most effective looks you can pull off at the last minute. All you need is to wear a scary Scream mask, easily available everywhere, and walk around with a big toy knife.

Vampire

"Twilight" and "The Vampire Diaries" are a more sophisticated take on the lives and stories of vampires. But the signature vampire and Dracula look has been a Halloween special for years. Now whether you want to be the classic Dracula or the more urbane vampire is on you, but you can get a quick fix as make-up and costume for these get-ups are easily available at all costume stores.
