Here is good news for the KTM RC bike-lovers. If the recent reports on the cyber space are to be believed, the RC range of motorcycles in India is likely to come equipped with slipper clutch soon.

A report of TeamBHP via Bike Wale claims that Austrian bike-maker KTM is planning to introduce slipper clutch for its RC bikes in the country. In India, KTM retails two RC models, RC 390 and RC 200.

So what is slipper clutch? It is used to control the rear wheel of a bike from locking up during downshifts, which can result in rear wheel locking. This will help the bike to stay stable under heavy braking.

The slipper clutch is available currently on the bikes like Yamaha R1, Suzuki Hayabusa and Kawasaki Ninja 300 in India. There have also been rumours that Kawasaki Z250 is also getting ready to join the list. If RC motorcycles get slipper clutch, the cost of the bike is likely to see a slight increase. However, there is no official word from KTM yet, regarding the slipper clutch technology for RC bikes in India.
