Superstar Rajinikanth's "Kochadaiiyaan", the first Indian film to use motion capture technology, opened to mixed response worldwide.

The Tamil version of the film is doing good business, while the Hindi and Telugu versions have fared poorly at the box office. "Kochadaiiyaan" co-producer Murali Manohar admitted that the film is not doing as well as expected in north India. However, he expressed confidence that the makers would recover their investments.

Manohar also revealed that there would be a sequel to "Kochadaiiyaan".

"We did what we could, given restrictions of time and budget. I agree we could've done a lot better. We will work much harder on the sequel to 'Kochadaiiyaan'," Manohar was quoted as saying by the New Indian Express.

Lakshmi Rai Changes Name to Raai Laxmi

Lakshmi Rai, who has starred in films such as "Mankatha" and "Kanchana", has changed her name to Raai Laxmi. The actress has been planning to have a name change for almost a year but could not do so as she was busy with her prior commitments.

Confirming the change, Rai told Chennai Times: "Yes, my name in now Raai Laxmi. It is not exactly a name change. It is the same name but it is just that I am shuffling it a bit. I have added an extra 'a' to the Rai as it is going to be my first name."
