Model-turned-actress Koena Mitra has slammed Aam Admi Party (AAP) chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for shaming BJP leader Gautam Gambhir without evidence on his vile campaign against Atishi.

Koena Mitra retweeted Arvind Kejriwal's post and termed his act as shameful. The actress tweeted, "Shameful! Do you have any proof? How can you name shame a person without any evidence? This is the lowest low!! How desperate are you. My humble request to people of Delhi, teach this guy a lesson of a lifetime. Don't vote for @AamAadmiParty @ArvindKejriwal @AtishiAAP!!"

Gautam Gambhir is contesting the Lok Sabha election as a BJP candidate against AAP leader Atishi in the East Delhi constituency. Along with Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, Atishi had held a press conference on Thursday and alleged that Gambhir had distributed a pamphlet containing "obscene and derogatory" remarks against her in the constituency. She broke down twice while addressing the media.

Addressing the media, AAP leader Manish Sisodia had said, "We clapped for Gambhir when he used to bash opponents with fours and sixes while playing for India but we never in our worst dream had thought that this man would stoop this low to win an election."

Arvind Kejriwal tweeted Manish Sisodia's statement and condemned Gautam Gambhir for his vile campaign. The Delhi Chief Minister tweeted, "Never imagined Gautam Gambhir to stoop so low. How can women expect safety if people wid such mentality are voted in? Atishi, stay strong. I can imagine how difficult it must be for u. It is precisely this kind of forces we have to fight against."

AAP's allegations against Gautam Gambhir created a lot of buzz in the media and many netizens also condemned the former cricketer. But Gautam Gambhir denied the charges of the AAP. Instead, he alleged that Arvind Kejriwal had distributed the controversial pamphlet to gain sympathy votes for the party. He also declared to withdraw his candidature if he is proved guilty.

Gautam Gambhir tweeted, "I abhor your act of outraging a woman's modesty @ArvindKejriwal and that too your own colleague. And all this for winning elections? U r filth Mr CM and someone needs ur very own झाड़ू to clean ur dirty mind. My Challenge no.2 @ArvindKejriwal @AtishiAAP I declare that if its proven that I did it, I will withdraw my candidature right now. If not, will u quit politics? I feel ashamed to have a CM like @ArvindKejriwal."
