One of India's most highly rated opening batsmen currently, KL Rahul, is taking time off to recover from his shoulder injury, by vacationing and trying to find that inner peace among the bounties of nature.

The 25-year-old cricketer from Mangalore is nursing the injury which he suffered during the first of the three-match Border-Gavaskar Test trophy between Indian and Australia. Lokesh Rahul suffered the injury during the first Test match in Pune in late February.

However, he played the series through pain.

Rahul underwent the surgery on his left shoulder successfully, following the Test series, but was advised two-three months of rest, dampening his hopes to play for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL 2017 as well as the ICC Champions Trophy 2017.

His absence from the IPL 2017 has significantly hurt RCB's IPL season, which remained nothing but absolutely nightmarish.

Even Australian batting great Ricky Ponting mentioned KL Rahul's absence as a major blow to RCB's forgettable IPL season.

KL Rahul is a massive loss for them (RCB). He had a terrific back-end to last season. He did some amazing things last year so him not being at the top has been a big loss.

He and Virat were a pretty formidable opening pair last year. You couldn't argue with what they did last year and they've played a bit of cricket with each other in the Indian Test team for the few months leading into the IPL.

So they would have had a good dynamic there at the top of the order and unfortunately that's been missing for them. "But you have to have replacements for just about every position so that's where they've come undone [this season].

KL Rahul, for now, is enjoying his time off from the game, as he looks forward to coming back with a bang.
