Kerala Minister of Cultural Affairs, AK Balan, has announced the winners of the prestigious Kerala State Film Awards 2016 at 5 pm in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday, March 7.
Vinayakan has bagged the best actor award for his performance in Rajeev Ravi's movie Kammatipaadam, while Rajisha Vijayan has won the best actress award for her debut movie Anuraga Karikkin Vellam. It has to be noted that both the actors were selected as the best actors by Cinema Paradiso Club recently.
Vidhu Vincent has been selected as the best director for the movie Manhole, which has also won best feature award this year. Manikandan Achari, who played as Balan in the Dulquer Salmaan-starrer Kammatipaadam has bagged the best character actor award for the state awards 2016. Chethan Jayalal and Abeni Aadhi are selected as the best child artistes for their performances in Guppy and Kochavva Paulo Ayyappa Coelho, respectively.
Dr Biju's Kaadu Pookunna Neram and Johnpaul George's Guppy have won as many as five awards, while Vinod Mankara's Kamboji has bagged four awards.
