Director Ali Abbas Zafar was in a celebratory mood on Wednesday after his recent release "Sultan," starring Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma, became a blockbuster hit at the box office. The director celebrated the "Sultan" success with his close friends, but Salman and Anushka were missing at the bash.

Ali was seen partying with "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" director Kabir Khan, his wife Mini Mathur and Katrina Kaif. TV personality Mini Mathur posted a photo of her posing with Kabir, Katrina and Ali on Instagram with a post, "Celebratory Night out with my friends @kabirkhankk @aliabbaszafar & #katrina."

Ali shares a good equation with Kabir and his wife Mini, and Katrina. He has worked as an assistant director to Kabir in films like "New York" and "Ek Tha Tiger," and has directed Katrina in "Mere Brother Ki Dulhan."

Meanwhile, riding high on the positive feedback, "Sultan" is currently ruling the box office with a whopping Rs. 200 crore income. The sports drama was released on July 6 worldwide in 5,450 screens. "Sultan," which stars Salman and Anushka as wrestlers, also features Randeep Hooda, Amit Sadh and Kumud Mishra in pivotal roles.

Talking about the film, Ali told DNA, "Sultan is about fighting out and fighting within. At heart, it is a very simple story about a man and a woman and what happens in their relationship. Wrestling is just the backdrop of the film. In wrestling, every time you lose you fall in the mud, you rise. It's like life. The only thing they teach you in wrestling is: Just get up again after a fall. 'Chal khada ho, chal khada ho,' those are the only words they use while training a wrestler. That became a kind of a germ for the story."
