A taped telephonic conversation, in which a senior Congress leader from north Kashmir allegedly sought sexual favours from a woman in exchange for a job, has gone viral on social media in Jammu & Kashmir.

The audio clip went viral on social media platforms and is being circulated on WhatsApp. In the eight-minute clip, the Congress leader is heard asking the woman to come to him if she wants a job. He also asked the woman to take "oath that [sic] she loves him," Daily News & Analysis reported.

The girl had called the Congress leader for the job he had earlier promised, but the leader allegedly wanted to have sex with her for fulfilling his promise. "I will do everything after you come to me," the leader told the woman in Kashmiri.

Reacting to the conversation between the accused Congress leader and the woman, Congress J&K vice president GN Monga said that there was no proof of the audio clip's authenticity. He went on to say that the party will take action against the leader if his involvement is proven prior investigation.

"What is the proof? Is there any FIR against the gentlemen [sic]? That means there is no proof... It should be properly investigated and things should come to light. In case it is proved we will take action against him," Monga said.
