"Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8" fans were left shocked last week when judge Karan Johar announced to quit the show mid-way.

It was said that the producer-director had to leave the show as he wanted to focus on his next directorial project "Ae Dil Hai Muskil", which has Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles.

However, the latest buzz is that Karan left the show as he wasn't happy shooting with Shahid Kapoor.

The "Shaadaar" actor apparently insists that the show's script should revolve around him and has also got his contract money increased mid-season. This reportedly didn't go down well with Karan, who chose to bid adieu to the show.

However, Karan refuted the rumours and mentioned that Shahid has no role in his decision to quit the show. In fact, he wishes to return to the show in the next season.

"My leaving Jhalak had nothing to do with Shahid. The Jhalak team always knew that I would be leaving at this point to start my film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. I will be in touch with them on weekly basis. I should be back next season and I hope they still want me. I felt very sad and bad about my exit midway through the journey. Working with Shahid has been an incredible experience. We got along like a house on fire," Karan told 9XE.com.

Interestingly, the "Udta Punjab" actor has shared a picture of him with Karan on social media with a caption that read: "Miss you . #jhalakreloaded"

This is not the first time that rumours of tiffs with Shahid on the sets of "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8" have surfaced.

Recently, a few reports had stated that host Manish Paul, who had attended Shahid and Mira Kapoor's wedding reception, had shared a picture of him with the newly-weds on Twitter. This, surprisingly, didn't go down well with Shahid.

The "Haider" actor was reportedly so disappointed with Manish that he refused to shoot with the show's host and insisted on doing a bit of hosting himself.

Meanwhile, Malaika Arora Khan has replaced Karan and will be see judging the show along with the rest of the judges: Shahid, Ganesh Hegde and Lauren Gottlieb.
