Troubled television comedian and host Kapil Sharma is all set to make a comeback with a new show on Sony Entertainment Television. This will be like the third chance the controversial comedian will get to make amends after his ill-health and personal problems destroyed his reputation in the TV industry in Mumbai.

Indianexpress.com reveals a source as saying, "Kapil really needed this break to introspect on his life and career. The fallout with his The Kapil Sharma Show co-stars and the failure of Firangi really left him disturbed. While he assumed that launching Family Time with Kapil Sharma will ease out his problems, it only made matters worse."

"Added to that, the entire fiasco with the journalist and the Simoes sisters further left him distraught. It was too much to handle for him. But now, after spending a good amount of time travelling with his family, Kapil is rejuvenated and raring to get back to entertaining his audience. He has also decided to hire a personal trainer and get back in shape," the source said.

When will Kapil Sharma's new show go on air?

"It will take time, more than a month or two. After Family Time, both Kapil and the channel do not want to take a chance with the concept. They are ideating and hopefully, a positive outcome will come out of it soon. Kapil has been assured that past incidents have not left any bad blood, and the channel is happy to give their association a fresh start," the source told IE.

Kapil Sharma's TV career

After winning The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2007 and six consecutive seasons of Comedy Circus, amid other shows, Kapil Sharma's first TV show as an individual stand-up comedian was Comedy Nights with Kapil in 2013 on Colors. It was a super duper success, like a TV chartbuster not seen in a while. The biggest Bollywood actors and sports stars appeared on the show.

But Kapil ended up quitting Comedy Nights with Kapil to pursue a film career. He was then seen in a similarly formatted comedy show - The Kapil Sharma Show on Sony TV. The show didn't take off as expected and frequent incidents of episode shoots being cancelled even in the presence of big celebrities occurred.

Marred by depression, alcoholism and personal conflicts with TV producers, fellow comedians and a former girlfriend, as the buzz said, Kapil Sharma stayed away from the limelight. He was also in a controversy for abusing a journalist and his daughter.

When his film Firangi flopped miserably in 2017, Kapil came back to TV with a show called Family Time with Kapil Sharma on Sony again.

With Family Time with Kapil Sharma being a disaster, Kapil Sharma vanished again and was reportedly in rehab abroad. He was spotted recently in a bad shape.

We hope Kapil Sharma recovers from his illness soon and makes us laugh again.
