Varun Tej's "Kanche" has made superb collection at the worldwide box office on its first day. It has managed to beat other new Telugu releases like "Columbus" and "Raju Gari Gadhi" on its opening day.

"Kanche" is the second movie of mega family hero Varun Tej. Written and directed by Krish, the movie is a war drama based on World War II. The promos of the film had created a lot of curiosity among the film-goers, who were eagerly waiting for the release of the movie in theatres.

Initially, "Kanche" was slated to be released in theatres on 6 November, but its makers made some quick arrangements and advanced its release by two weeks after "Akhil: the Power of Jua" was postponed. They also made ticket booking available well in advance and the film registered very good amount of booking.

"Kanche" released in 400 screens in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, 150 screens in rest of India and 150 screens in international markets, including 130 screens in the US. After seeing these factors, trade experts in film nagar predicted that the movie would debut with superb response and make better collection than "Columbus" and "Raju Gari Gadhi", which released in a limited number of theatres.

As predicted, "Kanche" started with a bang in premiere show in international markets and early morning shows in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The movie registered an average of 60% occupancy in both single screens and multiplexes across India. The word-of-mouth took its business upwards in the afternoon and evening shows.

The Varun Tej starrer is estimated to have grossed Rs 3+ crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and Rs 2.50 crore in rest of India and other parts of the world. "Kanche" has grossed approximately Rs 5.5 crore at the worldwide box office on the first day. Its opening day distributors' share is estimated to be Rs 3.85 crore.

When compared to "Kanche", other new releases "Columbus" and "Raju Gari Gadhi" lacked hype and promotion. Their screen count is very low and put together, it is not even equal to that of "Kanche". They also opened to good response and grossed approximately Rs 4+ crore at the worldwide box office on the first day.
